Azerbaijani President: Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line will be "Silk Road"

Azerbaijani President: Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line will be "Silk Road"

“Those who visited Azerbaijan 20 years ag saw that Baku was in bad situation. Now, Baku has completely changed. Oil ponds have been treated, environment has been made better. This was possible because we are owner of our resources”, said the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the 48th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors.

The Head of state noted that if Azerbaijan was independent 70 years ago, it would have been richer today: “Energy security and relying upon our sources make principle of our development . Today, Azerbaijan benefits from its geographical location, is a centre of transport. A port with the capacity of 25 mln tonnes is being constructed. Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway line will be the Silk Road”.
